World’s First Inflatable Modular Greenhouse Set to Debut Next Week at Northwest Flower & Garden Festival

The Northwest Flower & Garden Festival is a showcase of the latest products, ideas and trends for the Pacific Northwest garden, and this year’s event is no exception.  One of the cool new products making its public debut at the festival, which opens next week at the Seattle Convention Center, is the new HĀVN inflatable modular greenhouse.

Designed for both property owners as well as renters, this modular greenhouse requires no foundation, and can be installed in as little as 1 to 2 hours without the need for any tools.  More than just portable, the HĀVN is a professional grade greenhouse for both backyard gardens and small farms, with state of the art features such as heating, ventilation and lighting that you can control directly from your smartphone.  Because it is inflatable, it can be easily dismantled and moved depending on the season or your needs.  

The HĀVN greenhouse is the brainchild of Dirk Steinhour, a composite engineer and organic farmer based in Lyle, Wash., who created it to use in his own farming operations.  It is made from a patented material developed by Steinhour that is a combination of aerospace grade composites and inflatable whitewater raft material, making it many times more puncture resistant than just whitewater raft material alone.  It also gives it the capability to withstand high snow loads and winds, holding up to snow loads of up to 30 inches and winds up to 75 miles per hour.

The HĀVN measures 10 feet by 10 feet, and features an interlocking post and beam construction that eliminates the need for tools to erect.  Because of its modular construction you can add to its length (in 10 foot increments) to make it as long as you need or want.
