From Dogs in Costume to Fall Garden Tips: Home and Garden Ideas for Pacific Northwest Living at the Evergreen Fall Home Show

Fall in the Pacific Northwest is a time when our focus shifts from outdoors to indoors. At this weekend’s Evergreen Fall Home Show, however, Northwesterners can explore all that and more, from dogs in costume to fall garden tips.

Running through Sunday, October 25, at the Evergreen State Fairgrounds in Monroe, the show brings together home improvement specialists, garden experts and a variety of other attractions for Pacific Northwest homeowners.

For garden enthusiasts, West Coast Nursery, a woman-owned business, will bring a selection of trees and shrubs selected for Pacific Northwest gardens to the show for a fall sale. Owner Becky Crisp will also share tips on fall planting, soil improvement and preparing gardens for spring. Local gardening expert Ciscoe Morris will speak Saturday on “Great Plants and Tips for the Fall Garden.”

Adding a little Halloween spirit to the weekend, the show features a dog costume contest. Called Pug-o-Ween and Frenchie Fright Fest, the event brings together pugs and French bulldogs dressed for the occasion.

For homeowners looking to prepare for the cooler, wetter months ahead or make improvements around the house, exhibitors offer a range of products and services. From gutters and fireplaces to heating systems, kitchen and bath updates, and storage solutions, the show offers an opportunity to explore options for projects large and small.
