Sneak Preview: Sequim Lavender Weekend

For Washingtonians, the annual Sequim Lavender Festival is a July destination spot.  Located in Sequim, Washington, this festival celebrates all things lavender, culminating in the Sequim Lavender Weekend.


This year’s Lavender Weekend is set for July 18 - 20th   Home & Garden Seattle had the chance this past weekend to take a sneak preview of some of the lavender farms participating in this year’s Lavender Weekend.  All are dog friendly.  Here’s a sampling:


  • Fat Cat Garden & Gifts.  This lovely family-run lavender farm features lavender fields as well as other flowers and produce, including dahlias and raspberries.  There’s a host of other features, including a koi pond and picnic area too.  Local arts and crafts in the gift shop.  


  • Jardin du Soleil.  Among the features of this certified organic lavender farm are U-pick lavender and certified organic lavender products.  There are goats and chickens too!  Garden maze for children.  On Lavender Festival Weekend, there will be a special musical line up, food and drink including farm made drinks and teas, lavender ice cream and dairy free lavender gelato, demonstrations on distilling essential oils, crafts and games for the family plus a variety of local artisans.


  • Lavender Connection.  U-pick lavender, lavender products and essential oils for sale in the gift store.  Picnic area dog friendly.  Free admission.  On Lavender Festival Weekend, there will be essential oil distillation demonstrations, the chance to “Invent Your Own Scent,” aromatic “tasting” at the farm’s essential oils bar, artisan gifts for sale and more.


  • Purple Haze.  U-pick lavender, lavender plants and gift shop. Fresh eggs from the farm.  Lavender ice cream and drinks.  Picnic area. 


  • Victor’s Lavender.  During Lavender Festival Weekend this charming lavender farm will offer a host of special activities, including free lavender workshops by owner Victor Gonzalez.  There will be handmade products by Victor’s wife, as well as plants for sale and U-pick lavender.  Nightly barn dance with catered food. Barn gift shop.  Beekeeping display.  Free admission.


  • Olympic Bluffs Cidery and Lavender Farm.   On Lavender Festival Weekend, this local lavender farm and cidery will feature live music, cider tasting, local artisans, kite flying contest and more!  Free admission.
