Find Local Art, Handmade Crafts and More in Everett This Weekend at Sorticulture

If you’re looking for unique items for your home, this weekend’s Sorticulture in Everett is a great place to find them.

Billed as Everett’s Garden Arts Festival, Sorticulture has a host of locally made art, crafts, unusual plants and more, all from local vendors. More than 140 artists and nurseries are at this year’s event, showcasing unique wares that you can’t find in other places.

You can find original art such as whimsical art created from real pressed flowers (all locally grown of course) by Annelie’s Blumen and hand drawn story trees created in pen, ink and watercolor by artist Tracy Mazuer from Trees Have Feelings.  Handblown studio glass art for the garden by Studio Rynkiewicz.  Unusual plants from regional nurseries, such as plants for pollinators from Sunnyside Nursery carnivorous plants (yes, you can grow carnivorous plants outdoors in the Pacific Northwest) from Predatory Perennials.

In addition to the artists and nurseries, Sorticulture also features other attractions, including a wine garden with live music, garden classes, a garden clinic by WSU Snohomish County Master Gardeners and art classes.  Garden expert and TV personality Ciscoe Morris will be a featured speaker on Sunday, June 7 at 1 pm in the Historic Everett Theatre.

Sorticulture takes place over six city blocks in downtown Everett, along Colby Avenue from Everett Avenue to the north, and Pacific Avenue from the south, now through Sunday June 7.  Admission is free of charge.  Event hours are 10 am through 6 pm today and Saturday, and 10 am to 4 pm on Sunday.  For more information, including directions, schedule and a full exhibitor line up please visit their website at https://www.visiteverett.com/1400/Sorticulture.
