Are you trying to understand upzoning and what it means to your community? Want to know more about affordable/middle income housing and how to effectively create it in your city? If so, this public forum is for you!
Hosted by Seattle Residents for Thoughtful Growth, a grassroots organization dedicated to making housing more affordable to middle income families, “ReVision Seattle” is focused on the Seattle Comprehensive Plan, but is applicable to other Washington cities and communities. “ReVision Seattle” will provide updates on where the Seattle Comprehensive Plan is today, sharing lessons and insights gained when Seattle’s sister city, Vancouver, went through the largest upzoning in North America.
Headlining the event is Patrick Condon, author of the book “Broken City: Land Speculation, Inequality, and Urban Crisis.” Among the takeaways include why not all upzoning is the same, and how the way communities approach upzoning and middle income housing makes a difference as to whether or not middle income housing actually gets built.
“ReVision Seattle” takes place Monday, June 15 from 6 to 8 pm at the Mt. Baker Community Club in Seattle. For more information or to register for the event, please visit https://www.seattlethoughtfulgrowth.org/.
