Whether you rent or own, incorporating art into your home can be a great way to enhance your living spaces. With this handthrown clay pottery from Shoalwater Pottery, you can incorporate the beauty of the Pacific Northwest indoors through art - and at prices that won’t break the bank.
Based in Shoalwater Bay (now known as Willapa Bay) in Washington state, Shoalwater Pottery specializes in creating pottery that incorporates the patterns of nature native to the Willapa Hills regions in each of its pieces. Using leaves gathered locally to imprint patterns on its designs, Shoalwater Pottery’s focus is clay objects that are both beautiful as well as functional for everyday use. Tumblers, mugs, dinnerware, vases and other decorative leaf prints make up the bulk of Shoalwater Pottery’s offerings.
All pieces are individually thrown either on a potter’s wheel or handformed with clay dug locally in Willapa Hills. Shoalwater Pottery also features a Native Ashware pottery line, using Native Ash glaze created from locally sourced ashes and clay.
You can find Shoalwater Pottery at select art and crafts shows, galleries and gift shops in the Pacific Northwest. You can also visit their online gallery at https://www.shoalwaterpottery.com/.
